Public groups can now enable join requests – allowing group admins to review new members before approving them to write in the chat. Users who open the group can tap Request to Join, adding their request to a list that only admins can access. To use live locations and proximity alerts, go to the contact’s chat window and tap on the ‘Attach’ icon shaped like a paperclip. Choose the location button here, and choose ‘Share my Live Location’. These chats are meant to be short-lived and not stored on Telegram’s servers. You can take a new photo, upload an existing one, search the web for a new image, or remove your current photo. Telegram has an upload limit of 2 GB per single file. It was one of the most valuable Telegram features I mostly loved.
