Last year, Telegram brought a unique feature that allows you to discover Telegram users and groups based on your location. Depending on your needs, you can choose to mute individual chats for specific time durations like for 1 hour, 8 hours, 1 day, 7 days, or mute until a preferred date and time. You’ll have to be especially concerned with privacy to want to do this — it means you’ll never have a chat log — nonetheless, it’s a nice option that Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, and WeChat don’t have.

Once you and your contact have both shared your live locations with each other, Telegram will show both parties on either map, which allows them to track each other.
