We all have that one person that annoys us by sending too many forwarded messages. Well, Telegram makes it really easy to silence such a contact. Just open the chat and tap on the profile photo of the contact. Unlike mass-market messengers like WhatsApp and Line, Telegram is an open-source app. This means anyone can check the app’s source code, protocol, API, and see how it works and make an informed decision. To lock a chat go to Settings->Privacy and Security->Passcode Lock and enable it. Once you create a passcode and enable it, you will be able to lock and unlock your chats by tapping on the lock icon at the top right of the app.

If you are using Telegram on your PC, Laptop, or another device, your secret chat is only visible to your device that you started it. All your normal chat media will be saved in your cloud storage. Set Reminders To use live locations and proximity alerts, go to the contact’s chat window and tap on the ‘Attach’ icon shaped like a paperclip. Choose the location button here, and choose ‘Share my Live Location’. You will be able to send live locations for either 15 minutes, 1 hour or 8 hours. In fact, Telegram offers many more features rather than other Messaging apps in the same market. After that, hit the More button (triple-dot icon) and choose Enable Auto-Delete in the popup menu. Next, choose the desired period of time like 1 day, 1 week, or 1 month. If you would rather want to go with a custom period of time, tap Other and then adjust the time.

Besides these security enhancements, you can set a self-destruct timer of duration varying from one second to one week. Furthermore, you or the other person cannot forward messages that you receive within the Secret Chat and taking screenshots (or screen recordings) is completely blocked. Currently, the Secret Chat is limited to conversations between only two people and Secret Groups are not supported within Telegram. The cool features of Telegram aren't all so serious, though.
