There is a movie coming on Major Shaitan Singh Bhati. By Farhan Akhtar.
https://youtu.be/52eEa2nrs4E?si=Luz0QH3CJCxzPSm5
The first time I read about the Battle of Rezang La (1962)—when 13 Kumaon, led by Maj. Shaitan Singh, stood their ground against overwhelming Chinese forces—I had goosebumps.
They were just 120 men, facing waves of attack in freezing Ladakh at 16,000 ft. Yet, they fought till the last bullet, the last breath, defending the Chushul air strip—knowing full well they might not return. 114 soldiers laid down their lives. Not one abandoned their post.
It was my first Param Vir Chakra story—and it has stayed with me ever since.
There’s a memorial in Ladakh built by 13 Kumaon. I haven’t visited it yet, but even reading the words engraved there (see photo) gave me chills. It speaks not just of sacrifice but of a spirit that defines India’s soldiers.
When the movie releases, I’m definitely making a video on it. Can’t wait.

Have you ever wondered why Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka supported the Pandavas while Bengal, Odisha, and the Telugu states went full Kaurava?
Why was Kashmir playing neutral like Switzerland during World War 2?…

In his book Midnight's Descendants, John Keay begins with Partition.
He writes that on the eastern side, Malda was meant to go to East Pakistan — it had a Muslim majority. But for the sake of geography, it ended up in India. In return, India gave away Sylhet to Pakistan — even though Sylhet was mostly Hindu. People there felt betrayed. They had raised the Tiranga on 15th August.
Today, after the Delhi Police controversy, we’re asking whether Sylheti is a Bangladeshi language. But the real question is — why is Sylhet in Bangladesh in the first place? So much for forgetting Partition.
Join me and Sam Dalrymple as we talk about these forgotten histories.
Sam recently wrote a history of Partition. He says India wasn’t partitioned once, but five times — from 1937 to 1971. In those 35 years, one British Indian empire broke into 12 independent countries.

This is not new.
When Napoleon banned entire Europe from trading with British, as a part of his trade war with Britain (Continental Policy), he himself sold the Brits some wheat and other material for profit.
In the 19th century, Britain preached the whole world Free Trade while closing down India for the world.
It would be totally wrong to see this American duplicity as Trump exception. The whole western world has been always doing this to keep us in our place. This is how they build empires.
