This security-focused messaging app allows you to register a unique username so that people can message or add you to groups without necessarily knowing your phone number. This way, you can keep your number private. Turn on Secret Chat Bots that are integrated into the Attach attachment menu can now also work in groups and channels in addition to one-on-one chats.

To change the number you use with Telegram, open Settings (which is inside the left menu on Android). On iPhone, in the next menu, tap Edit in the top-right corner. This step isn't necessary on Android. There are many cloud services to select from; each has its own features and costs. Telegram has embraced this functionality in a unique way. Telegram, however, allows you to send uncompressed video and images directly (without converting them into another format). It saves you a lot of trouble.

This means you can access them from any connected device, making Telegram much more multi-platform friendly than other chat apps like WhatsApp.
