Because Telegram lets you interact with people even if you aren't in each other's contacts, you may wish to make your account more private. As mentioned above, the use of usernames instead of phone numbers means your account isn’t tied to just one phone. Secret chats However, Telegram only uses this encryption in calls and in its “secret chats” feature, not in regular chats. Those are only encrypted client to server.
