📅 The C5+O.N.E. (Opening Networks through English) program held its National Training of Teachers in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The two-day event brought together 12 classroom teachers, program administrators, and special guest Ardita Dunellari, Public Diplomacy Officer, U.S. Embassy Tashkent.
📚 Sessions covered program goals, policies, curricula, classroom practices, and digital tools. Activities like Professional Bingo, Kahoot!, and hands-on Google Workspace training encouraged collaboration and innovation.
💡 The training closed with a reflective session, leaving teachers motivated and ready to begin their work with students. With every new cohort, the C5+O.N.E. program continues to build teacher capacity, expand opportunities, and strengthen regional ties.

On August 18, the Jizzakh alumni community hosted a workshop on “Best Practices for Using AI in English Language Classrooms,” open to both educators and students. The event explored how artificial intelligence can shape the future of teaching and learning.
The day began with an interactive warm-up, followed by alumni-led sessions on AI basics, creating effective prompts, classroom tools like Elevens Lab and Twee, and over forty different AI resources to make lessons more engaging. Participants actively experimented with tools, shared ideas, and discovered new strategies to bring creativity into education.
The workshop proved to be informative as well as highly motivating, strengthening the role of alumni as leaders in shaping forward-looking classrooms.

Over the past three months, 90 university students from across Uzbekistan completed full-time internships at 35 host companies, joined professional development sessions, learned from U.S. Government exchange alumni mentors, and visited U.S.-affiliated companies like Air Products, Coca-Cola, Wings Distribution, and EPAM Systems.
✨ At the Capstone & Closing Ceremony, held on August 25, we celebrated their growth and achievements, and the impact of a program that helps prepare Uzbekistan’s next generation of leaders.

📢 C5+O.N.E. Launches Fifth Cohort
On September 17, the C5+O.N.E. program, funded by the U.S. Department of State, launched its Fifth Cohort, uniting 700+ professionals from across Central Asia. Nearly 200 joined the Kick-Off Ceremony to begin a nine-month journey of improving English, learning from U.S. experts, and expanding networks.
In his remarks, U.S. Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic, Lesslie Viguerie, emphasized, “English is the language of future economic growth... take full advantage of this opportunity to make English a part of your future.”
Jeff Bunting, Cultural Affairs Officer at the U.S. Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic, added: “The C5+O.N.E. program enacts the goals of the C5+1. It brings the five Central Asian countries together with the United States to strengthen economic ties, enhance the development of energy resources, and address security threats.”

On September 21, 40 YPIP alumni came together for an engaging quarterly alumni meetup and training session led by Dr. Alisher Faizullaev.
Through interactive games and discussions, Dr. Faizullaev guided participants in strengthening their strategic thinking skills and exploring effective approaches to both cooperation and competition. Alumni gained valuable insights into critical thinking, joint decision-making, trust-building, and strategic negotiations.
The meetup provided an inspiring space for alumni to exchange experiences, learn from one another, and strengthen their professional and personal connections. 🤝
ℹ️ Dr. Alisher Faizullaev is a 2012 Fulbright Visiting Scholar alumnus, former Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the United Kingdom, the European Union, and NATO, and an internationally recognized scholar in diplomacy, negotiation, and political psychology. He currently teaches at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy as well as at Webster University in Tashkent.
