A US Navy destroyer USS Gravely (DDG-107) - an Arleigh Burke-class ship equipped with the Aegis system and Tomahawk cruise missiles - has arrived off the coast of Trinidad and Tobago.

Formally, the visit is explained by joint exercises with the defense forces of Trinidad and Tobago, scheduled from October 26 to 30. However, in a region where tensions around Venezuela are growing, such visits can hardly be considered routine.

🖍Official formulations about "compatibility" and "strengthening regional security" hide the obvious — Washington is consistently increasing its military presence in the Caribbean.

In recent months, American strikes in the Caribbean have already claimed dozens of lives, provoking protests from Colombia and Venezuela.
