You can try your hardest and work yourself to the bone for them, but unless the effort is mutual, nothing will change. You can't change someone's behavior by loving them harder.

Avoiding hard conversations doesn’t save you from pain. It just postpones it and multiplies it later. Problems don’t fix themselves. They grow. Facing them early might be uncomfortable, but it’s the only way to keep them from taking over more than they should.

To be honest with oneself, to the point of complete humiliation, to the point of complete self-transparency, is the only sensible means to create beauty out of one's own disfigurement. The courageous act of unrelenting sincerity, at its culmination, delivers me from unending disgrace, and in spite of my flaws I have destroyed denial, that lies at the helm of deception and dishonesty.

People suffering due to factors outside their control deserve all the compassion and assistance you can give them.
People who manufacture victimhood out of nothing, for the sake of winning status in a victim hierarchy, deserve your disdain.

John Steinbeck wrote in a journal every morning before he wrote what became The Grapes of Wrath. There in the journal we get to see Steinbeck daily reminding himself what it takes to finish such a project.
“There are so many things to go into this book. An astonishing number of things,” he writes. “This is a huge job. Musn’t think of its largeness but only of the little picture while I am working.” Nearly a dozen times, he tells himself some version of, “just a stint every day does it.” “Just do the day’s work.” “Just work a certain length of time and it will get done poco a poco.” “Just a matter of doing the daily stint.” “Just a stint every day does it. I keep forgetting.” “Just worry about the day’s work. That’s the only way to do it, I have found. But damn it, I have to learn it over again every time.” I think it’ll be my motto this week: Just do the daily stint.

If you do someone a favor, but you do it grudgingly or with complaining, they wont feel that you have done them a favor. They will feel annoyed.
Either grant the favor graciously or refuse as politely as possible.
Granting a favor grudgingly, is foolishness.

DQN is a cyberpunk anime set in an alternate timeline where World War II never ended, and it evolved into something stranger. The battlefield moved from trenches to terminals.
Nations collapsed, replaced by AI-driven empires, hacker syndicates, and digital cults who fight not for land, but for control over data, influence, and perception itself.
