Should not it be Oral spoken words?
Instead of a Cyrillic R? As far as I know, English language primarily used Latin alphabet.

When the delivery is funnier than the punchline 😁

But don’t get me wrong: the punchline was funny too, but the delivery kinda stole the show.

The latest edition of The Economist is out, and this short article caught my eye; it contains some useful language for IELTS Writing Task 1.
The problem with The Economist is that the language is often too complex for English learners. So, I’ll be using ChatGPT later to provide a simplified version of the article.
πŸ‘114🐳8😎7❀6πŸ‘Œ1
Now compare that (the original Economist piece) to this short article from The New Scientist. The language here is much closer to what you typically see in IELTS reading passages.
When you're told to practice your reading, make sure you're practicing with the right kind of materials.

Words can’t express how happy I am for my old friend!
Maybe tomorrow I’ll write a longer post.

For now, I just want to say that exactly six years ago, on April 28, 2019, we met in person when I was in Urgench for my Masterclass session.

Yesterday I unboxed my new Kindle Scribe, and I’ve been playing with it since. I love how it converts my handwritten notes into neat text. Now I guess I can send you guys some useful tips scribed on my new Kindle.

Thinking of giving away my old Kindle β€” it’s a 10th gen Paperwhite with 8GB of storage. Still in great condition!

MAKE CHARACTER YOUR LOUDEST STATEMENT

#DailyStoic #May #RightAction

"For philosophy doesn’t consist in outward display, but in taking heed to what is needed and being mindful of it."
β€” Musonius Rufus, Lectures, 16.75.15–16

The monk dresses in his robes. A priest puts on his collar. A banker wears an expensive suit and carries a briefcase. A Stoic has no uniform and resembles no stereotype. They are not identifiable by look or by sight or by sound.

The only way to recognize them? By their character.

May 2nd: BE THE PERSON YOU WANT TO BE

#DailyStoic #May #RightAction

"First tell yourself what kind of person you want to be, then do what you have to do. For in nearly every pursuit we see this to be the case. Those in athletic pursuit first choose the sport they want, and then do that work."

β€” Epictetus, Discourses, 3.23.1–2a

An archer is highly unlikely to hit a target she did not aim for. The same goes for you, whatever your target. You are certain to miss the target if you don’t bother to draw back and fire. Our perceptions and principles guide us in the selection of what we wantβ€”but ultimately our actions determine whether we get there or not.
So yes, spend some timeβ€”real, uninterrupted timeβ€”thinking about what’s important to you, what your priorities are. Then, work toward that and forsake all the others. It’s not enough to wish and hope. One must actβ€”and act right.

Here’s another fresh one from The Economist. The author shares an interesting perspective on how alcohol might actually benefit society and the economy.

An article a day keeps your IELTS worries away. ©️
