❌ I got a 7.0 from IELTS

Why do we keep making this mistake?

In Uzbek, we say:

🗣 “IELTSdan 7 oldim.” → which literally means “I got 7.0 from IELTS.”

But in English… that’s not how it works 😅

📌 In English, we don’t usually use “from” to talk about test results.

✅ I got a Band 7.0 in IELTS.
✅ I scored 7.0 on the IELTS test.
✅ My IELTS score was 7.0.
✅ I achieved Band 7.0 in IELTS. (formal)

❗️Saying “from IELTS” makes it sound like IELTS is a person who gave you the score as a gift. 🎁

While the Listening and Speaking sections are the same in both the Academic and General Training modules, the Reading and Writing sections differ slightly.

At the moment, the IELTS General Training test is only available in computer-delivered format in Uzbekistan.
