to gain
The first three entries of the word “gain” are labeled as B2, meaning if you are at B2 or higher, you should be somewhat familiar with how to use the verb “gain”.
My favorite idiom with “gain” is “to gain ground”, which means to become more powerful or successful.

Who is more AI: me or Pauline Cullen?
Check out my latest video on YouTube in which I checked two Task 1 reports against AI. In other words, I used one of my old reports from 2019 and Pauline Cullen's report on the same task and checked both texts using a tool called GPT ZERO. What it does is that it tells whether the text was written by AI or human. The result was surprising!
