The latest edition of The Economist is out, and this short article caught my eye; it contains some useful language for IELTS Writing Task 1.

Words can’t express how happy I am for my old friend!
Maybe tomorrow I’ll write a longer post.
For now, I just want to say that exactly six years ago, on April 28, 2019, we met in person when I was in Urgench for my Masterclass session.

Yesterday I unboxed my new Kindle Scribe, and I’ve been playing with it since. I love how it converts my handwritten notes into neat text. Now I guess I can send you guys some useful tips scribed on my new Kindle.

I’ve decided to keep sharing a daily dose of Stoic wisdom 🙂
This month, we’re focusing on Right Action—doing the right thing with discipline and consistency. Hopefully, we’ll make it through the whole month this time!

By the way, tomorrow (May 1st, 2025) The IELTS ZONE team is coming to Tashkent State University of Economics!
The meeting with the students is scheduled to start at 1pm.
If you are a student or a teacher there, come and say hello!
By the way, I will be joined by two other band 9.0 holders from IELTS ZONE. Can anybody guess the other two speakers?

MAKE CHARACTER YOUR LOUDEST STATEMENT
#DailyStoic #May #RightAction
"For philosophy doesn’t consist in outward display, but in taking heed to what is needed and being mindful of it."
— Musonius Rufus, Lectures, 16.75.15–16
The monk dresses in his robes. A priest puts on his collar. A banker wears an expensive suit and carries a briefcase. A Stoic has no uniform and resembles no stereotype. They are not identifiable by look or by sight or by sound.
The only way to recognize them? By their character.
