The dead cats that once sat behind the bar at Dirty Dicks pub in Swedeland Court, 202 #Bishopsgate, #London, #EC2M. The "Dirty Dicks" pub was named after Nathaniel Bentley, who was known for his unkempt appearance and having a messy home after the death of his fiancee. The pub was originally called The Old Jérusalem, and in honour of Nathaniel, changed to "Dirty Dicks" upon which it created a themed interior with dead cats and cobwebs to reflect Bentley's story. The pub was rebuilt in the 1870s, but the unique decor, including the mummified cats, was a popular attraction. While the original decorations are no longer on display, the pub maintains its unique history and name.
