The only thing better than exploring Britain's pubs is having the right people to do it with. lord.maverik thewonderingenglishman @britainspubs

Next time she's lazy or can't be bothered to go to the pub, remind her that some women will travel thousands of miles just to sit in a bloody weatherspoons.

They're not buildings but members of our family.
#RIP The Royal Oak which once sat on the corner of Williams Street and Whit Lane in #Charlestown and was known locally as 'Mad Mullers'. It was opened in a converted shop in (around) 1865 and by the 20th century was owned by the #Rochdale & Manor Brewery before #SamSmiths (the smaller brewery formed from Tadcaster's John Smiths) took all Rochdale & Manor's Salford houses in the 1940s. Pictured above in 1973. It was demolished along with almost all the pubs in #Charlestown for redevelopment soon after. They and those who used them are dearly missed.

It feels as though Britain's pubs were only needed for people who were only needed at the time.

UPCOMING Pub/History #Tour(s) for SEPTEMBER
TOUR 1: COVENT GARDEN
Date: 6th September
Meeting At: #Holborn Station
Time: 11 AM
TOUR 2: ROTHERHITHE
Date: 27th September
Meeting at: #Rotherhithe Station
Time: 11: 30 AM
We will be visiting some of #London's most famous and impressive pubs whilst venturing into various historical epochs. Britain's pubs were never just places to drink, but a much needed excuse to be among one another. And of course, during many fascinating times in history. The public houses we still walk past today played their parts in everything from law to war. Join us for a walk and a few refreshments as we delve into the living museums of #Britain.
The tours will last between 2-1/2 to 3 hours (usually more) and will end in a pub.
Prices: £20 per ticket (for over 18s),
16-18: £10
Under 16s: Free (If accompanied by a paying adult)
Thank you to those who've attended so far. I look forward to seeing you again and meeting new people. 🤝

I tend to look down on behaviour and the things that cause it as opposed to the people carrying it out.
