Growing up, not for one moment did we think that we would be alive to see the death of the countless public houses that watched so many our ancestors grow up.

Myself and PubMaverik at my favourite public house in #Manchester, the Pevril Of The Peak. This historic relic served the working people of industrial Manchester just as it does various walks of life today. Our pubs are treasures which are becoming more and more rare. Love them while you can and be in no doubt that it's thanks to Britain's lost and living pubs that the people of these glorious Isles formed the bonds, strength, and humour we're known for across the world. This pub was built around 1820 and remodelled in 1900 through a Arts and Crafts-influenced scheme which is why it has hand-painted tiles, stained glass, and intricate woodworking, providing a homely, wholesome, and comforting ora that contrasts with the modernity that surrounds it. If you're in Manchester, don't go to the ugly bars and newbuilds but instead venture into its glorious pubs to give them service and to experience the very buildings that served those who came before us. @britainspubs
