Our dearest friend Charlie Kirk departed this life this evening.
We cannot express in words the deep deep sadness that my wife and I feel.
It is all the more painful as we were due to see Charlie in Phoenix, Arizona this weekend, in two days time.
Charlie cared deeply about the current state of our country. He was paying close attention to its current challenges, he wanted to help.
No one of his age has ever achieved more politically for his own country and indeed geopolitically than Charlie Kirk has.
The actions that Charlie took to work towards peace and harmony in this world may never be fully known but we were and are a witness to many of them.
Charle Kirk has always been to my mind, first and foremost a peacemaker. That was my first impression of him too.
Charlie did not like unnecessary wars and in addition to his work for TPUSA Charlie worked tirelessly to prevent them.
I think that it was his purpose as a peacemaker, to end war and to create strong friendships was the essence of why we became so close.
Charlie always understood where I was coming from and I believe I understood him.
Irina and I had the singular honour in December 2018 of first welcoming and introducing Charlie Kirk to the UK when we launched Turning Point UK and subsequently, we had the honour of lending our family’s support to the expansion of Turning Point USA in America and in particular in helping to forward his peacemaking purposes.
The wins and successes that we have had together in that regard since 2018 have indeed been historic.
We welcomed Charlie to the UK again when he was invited to speak at the Oxford Union a few weeks ago.
We dined the evening before as small group, those very same friends that had welcomed him initially to the UK some years before.
Charlie, humble under praise as ever despite his stellar victories, expressed how he was so grateful to God for giving him the opportunity to help his country and to shape the philosophy of the world.
And he expressed to his friends that evening that God had already given him the opportunity to achieve far more than he had ever possibly thought that he would achieve at the outset when he started on his political and educational mission with Turning Point.
One of our greatest pleasures and experiences together is when Charlie invited Irina, our young son and I to Jerusalem to walk the path of Christ with him and with his new girlfriend, now his beloved wife, Erika, whom he had first encountered in Jerusalem. He knew the city so well and he loved Jerusalem. Few have the strength of Christian Faith that Charlie does, so the experience with him and Erika there was both etherial and divine. It was a beautiful few days together.
We walked its streets as four purpose bound friends. With our minds to the future and what might be achieved, we stood where Christ stood, were our lord preached his unique message of love that the world would eventually come to know, in the newly excavated City of David, (which was not even yet open to the public, somehow Charlie had been granted access).
We prayed and dreamed of what might just be possible if a well resourced coordinated group of people of good will got behind the life bringing purpose that Turning point and Charlie’s other work to bring peace presented.
Charlie’s Christian faith is one of the strongest I have ever encountered and it is one of the reasons that I know that despite the immense tragedy of today, Charlie Kirk is now with Jesus, our Lord.
This evening, he is with the angels.
Our thoughts this evening are solely with his beloved wife Erika and his two children.
Charlie Kirk, his philosophy, and his work will never be forgotten. His works and his philosophy will live on. If anyone had the idea that such an evil act could stop his ideas or his communication from reaching the minds for whom it is intended, their attempt has failed utterly.
Charlie Kirk who has always been certain in his faith of his own spiritual immortality, has today been immortalised along with his work here on earth.

We will miss our late night chats and extraordinary interchanges Charlie, we will mis God’s manifestation of sanity though you in person. We will miss the joys that you brought to us and your sense of humour.
