As parents, we long for our children to be happy, to grow in confidence, to build strong friendships, and to live meaningful, successful lives. But above all, we want them to know they are loved not just by us, but by a Love that never fails.

That’s the heart of a Catholic education. More than academics or achievements, it’s an invitation to discover who they are in the eyes of God. In Catholic schools, students are nurtured not only in mind and body, but also in spirit. They are taught to love themselves, to care for others, and to serve something greater than themselves.

This July, we join Pope Leo XIV in praying for a renewed formation in discernment. πŸ™

In a world overflowing with noise and endless choices, may we learn once more to quiet our hearts, listen deeply, and recognise the gentle stirrings of the Holy Spirit that guides us toward truth, love, and the path that leads to Christ.
Do you ever find yourself wondering, β€œHow could replying to emails, sitting through endless meetings, or chasing deadlines possibly glorify God?”

It’s hard to see sometimes. When your to-do list is never-ending, when everything is about KPIs, deliverables, and just trying to survive the week, it can feel like God is nowhere in the picture.

But what if He is? What if our work, even the mundane parts, can be holy ground? Our faith isn’t something we leave at the door when we start our workday. Work isn’t just what we do to get by; it’s one of the ways we live out our calling.

As St. Basil said, we can pray not just before we work, but through it. A quiet β€œJesus, be with me,” in between tasks. A breath of grace before a tough meeting. A heart that chooses kindness in the middle of stress.

So if today feels ordinary, tiring, or unseen, take heart! God sees your work. He’s in it with you. And He delights when you offer it to Him, just as you are.

We give thanks to God today, for Fr Michael Arro’s 70 years of priesthood!

Born in 1931 into a Catholic family, Fr Arro first learnt about the Paris Foreign Missions Society (MEP) at the age of 17 and entered the seminary the year after. He was ordained a MEP priest on 3 July 1955, and received his appointment to Singapore the year after. It wasn’t until June 1957 that Fr Arro boarded the ship to travel to our shores, but has been dedicated to the mission of Singapore and the region ever since.

What is it that caused the young Fr Arro to willingly abandon his life with his family at such a young age, for a life in a foreign land? What is it that continues to inspire him in his priesthood?

In a world where everyone’s debating what is β€œbare minimum” v/s β€œprincess treatment”, it’s easy to feel unsure about the kind of love you should expect. Even within the Bible we see a range of ways that love is expressed.

But one thing is for sure, God has shown us what love truly looks like: One that is intentional, sacrificial and honouring - just like His own.

πŸ“– This Bible Month, open Scripture and see God's plan for redemption unfold the greatest love story ever told.
