STARTING XI:
Sanchez - 7: Few iffy passes, couldn’t have done much more for Gakpo’s goal. Otherwise, a faultless display.
James - 8: Brilliant physically and when initiating counter attacks, did a good job at centre-back too.
Acheampong - 8: Produced couple great moments bombing forward with ball, kept Isak relatively quiet.
Badiashile - 8: Was the best player on pitch until his unfortunate injury. Composed, calm and a brick wall physically.
Cucurella - 8: Kept Salah quiet throughout entirety of game, pin-point assist for Estevao’s winner.
Gusto - 8: Tough ask in midfield but did brilliantly well, giving real balance. Grabbed assist for Caicedo’s worldy.
Caicedo - 9 {MOTM}: World-class performance from the Ecuadorian who scored an absolute peach - didn’t put a single foot wrong.
Enzo - 8: Created a few half chances and should’ve scored himself late on.
Neto - 7: Did well at times in keeping attacks going.
Garnacho - 7.5: Had Bradley on toast in the first half, showed real positivity on the ball.
Joao Pedro - 6: Struggled to make his stamp in the game, often isolated when holding up the ball.
SUBSTITUTES:
Lavia - 8: Brought solidity off the ball and class on the ball.
Hato - 7: Did well in a specific instance where he found his way past 3 Liverpool players.
Estevao - 9: Nice flashes on the ball before snatching the winner at the end. Wasn’t an easy finish considering the angle and off his weaker foot.
Gittens - 7: Couple half chances where he could’ve done better but still an improved cameo.
Guiu - 7.5: Pressed with real intent and energy, which caused Liverpool’s backline headaches.
