Didier Drogba: “I said in the past that I don’t recognize my team, and it was right. It was exactly the feeling I had. And today, the team has improved.
So you have to say when things are good, not only criticize when it’s bad. Things are good this year, and I’m really happy with what the manager is doing, and those young kids are giving everything for the club, and it makes me proud.”

Drogba on Chelsea winning the Club World Cup: ‘’I was proud in many ways. First of all, as a Chelsea fan, every time Chelsea have been in a final something magical happens, something special happens, because I think it’s in our DNA. We struggle, but when you reach the final, it becomes a different team. It’s like Frank Lampard, John Terry, Petr Cech, Makelele, Diego Costa, all these guys are behind the kids, and then we push them, and then they play, and they win, and they beat PSG, who’s the Champions League title owner. I was proud to see the team doing well, and perform during the summer.” #CFC

FPT will pay close to £10m as sleeve sponsor until the end of the season. Chelsea are looking for a long term sleeve sponsorship worth £15m a year. After the season, FPT will return as the club’s global partner.

The deal puts #CFC sixth among Premier League clubs in terms of sleeve sponsorship value. The Blues are just behind Arsenal’s deal. 💰

𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐋: After celebrating his 17th birthday, Academy midfielder Reggie Walsh has signed his first professional contract with Chelsea. ✍️

Walsh, who joined the club as an Under-8, featured for the Under-18s as a schoolboy during the 2024/25 season and was soon involved with the men’s first team. He made his debut in the UEFA Conference League fixture at Djurgarden, coming on as a substitute before starting the second leg of the semi-final. In doing so, he became the third-youngest player to represent Chelsea at senior level.

Since signing his scholarship in July, Walsh has established himself as a regular starter for Calum McFarlane’s Under-21s. He earned further European experience by starting in the Under-19s' UEFA Youth League victory over Bayern Munich.

Walsh’s involvement with the senior squad has continued this season, having featured in the matchday squad for the UEFA Champions League home tie against Benfica and made a late appearance in the Carabao Cup win away at Lincoln City. He later went on to make his UEFA Champions League debut at Stamford Bridge, coming on as a substitute in our 5-1 victory over Ajax.

Congratulations, reggie! 👏

🗣️ Enzo Maresca on Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat against Sunderland [H] in the Premier League:

🤝 “I think in general we were not good enough.

“When you are not good enough in the Premier League we know that the consequences can be bad. I have said many times, when you are not able to win it is important you do not lose.

“The second goal was just one long-ball in behind, we had two-v-one with the two central defenders and we didn’t defend properly. The first goal came from a throw-in, but it is difficult because they bring six or seven players inside the six-yard box. But overall I think we were not good enough.

“It can be an easy situation because we have two-v-one, the striker is facing his own goal so it is an easy position to defend, but probably we tried to manage it a little bit because it was the 93rd minute. But in that case for sure we have to do better.”

😶‍🌫️ 𝐎𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬:

“I think we were not good enough, we lacked creativity, we didn’t create a lot, apart from the goal probably, and we struggled.

“We need our players to perform 100 per cent. Even at 1-0 we lost some duels, we lost some second balls, and against this team we need to do better.

“When we arrive in certain areas of the pitch we cross because we expect to have four or five players in the box but today when we crossed we had players in the box but probably the quality of the cross was not the best.

“We have scored many goals from crosses, the last one I think was against Benfica at home, when [Alejandro] Garnacho forced the own goal. Probably today was more about the quality of the cross than the players who were in the box.”
