What to Expect from Chelsea & Maresca in 2025/26

Here’s a realistic and exciting analysis of what to expect from Chelsea and Enzo Maresca in the 2025/26 season, based on their progress and style last season. 👇👇
Chelsea & Enzo Maresca 2025/26: Realistic Expectations

Part-1

1. Tactics and Style

Maresca will stick mostly to 4-2-1-3, but will need to speed up play. Last season, slow buildup frustrated fans and sometimes cost points.

Expect more direct attacking, especially to get the best out of wingers and the striker.

Defensive shape should remain solid, but Chelsea still struggle with transitions and set pieces.

2. Squad Strength and Transfers

The biggest need is a proven, clinical striker to finish chances. Jackson hasn’t been consistent enough.

Injuries have been a problem. If key players like Reece James get injured again, Chelsea’s depth will be tested hard.

Some new signings are expected, especially in attack and possibly a goalkeeper to fit Maresca’s style better.

3. Competition Goals

Top 4 finish again is the minimum expectation; challenging for the title might be too early unless signings are excellent.

Champions League progress beyond the group stage will be a step forward.

Winning a domestic cup would be great but not guaranteed.

4. Challenges

Fans have little patience — another dip in form could cause unrest.

Maresca is still a young manager; tactical mistakes or stubbornness could cost points.

Chelsea’s squad depth isn’t the best compared to title challengers like Man City.

5. Overall

Maresca proved he can manage a big club, get results, and win trophies.

Next season will test if he can turn Chelsea into a consistent top team or if they’ll drift mid-table.

Progress is expected, but don’t expect miracles — building a title contender takes time, smart transfers, and some luck.
