When Buttler was calling him Magic Mike, I was honestly seeing Shambolic Mike. Am not at all pissed with his failed transfer. In fact, I am relieved.

While Mike Footwork is daring and commendable, the man's propensity to concede some weird daft goals was triggering alarm bells in me. Maignan is another product of media created paper tiger. "Superstar goalkeeper" they say

He definitely would have given us ball playing confidence. Just like Onana does. But what is the essence of superior secondary traits and shambolic primary traits.


If you look at his weak foot side goalkeeping and near post protection, I honestly think we've dodged another bullet.
