Had a look around the newly-built Georgian era Drover’s Tavern at Beamish Museum.
Droving, that is moving livestock across long distances, has existed for thousands of years in Britain. The builders of Stonehenge in SW England feasted on animals brought down from as far as NE Scotland.
For many years, the main industrial centres and big cities in Britain had their meat brought in by drovers. Drover’s roads are still found all across the country today. Some are tarmac-covered and used by cars, but others look the same as they were in the 18th century.
The arrival of the steam train brought this way of life to an end around the middle of the 19th century.

To have a hold on routine without losing grip of exploration is to live instead of exist.

This is a special feature covering a dark, sinister topic that occurred during the medical industries early breakthroughs. Pubs from #Edinburgh to #London would be an incredibly dangerous place to show signs of illness or to discuss a family death. The murders of #BurkeAndHare exposed a sickening trade that was promoted by a morally corrupt medical industry. Join me in one of Scotlands beautiful kirkyards to discuss an embarrassing, disturbing secret of Britain's academic and criminal past.

In the woods near Munich stands a statue of our god Wotan carved in 1874 by Heinrich Natter. It is missing an arm and rather eroded but is still an historical and, for Heathens, holy monument.
Communists have now vandalised the monument in an act of blatant religious hatred and direct provocation.

Even together, life is incredibly hard. Imagine the moments these two have shared to get here. Separate, we're but strangers with a false bond. In the end, we'll only remember those who included us. Living together through thick and thin is what creates a life and death worth having.

Observe and admire this breathtaking, historic fireplace in one of the old Abby towers at #DunfermlineAbbey and Palace at St Margaret’s Street, #Dunfermline, #Fife, #Scotland. Though it's difficult to date accurately, one can only imagine the conversations heard by this fireplace.
