The name “Non-fungible token” isn’t the most intuitive term for we don’t usually realize the fungibility of objects in the physical world, but this is an important technical distinction when it comes to how an asset is represented on a blockchain. Fungible tokens (FTs) are cryptos like BTC or EWT - doesn't matter which tokens you hold - just how many. NFTs represent a unique asset which’s ownership is stored & verified on the blockchain🖼
Before NFTs the content of digital infrastructure, data, avatars, names not really were yours. Tweets could be canceled, profile names be taken away and data sold without you even understanding what was going on.

Every Boomer or Legacy newspaper article mentions at least once the environmental damage that mining cryptocurrencies will cause - we all now how much energy it takes and the pollution this cause. Words like "fraud" or "counterfeiting" come up also at least once (All the well-known scam crypto projects that have lied to hundreds of thousands of people around the world, creating this bad image of the whole crypto world) and at least one expert heralds the destabilization of established institutions like the dollar💲
