Blurb:
Research agenda on well-being and language education
In this meeting, we will discuss the importance of well-being as an emerging hot research topic. The meeting is centered on a paper (i.e., Mercer & Murillo-Miranda, 2025) that outlines a fresh research agenda in language education. During the meeting, Dr. Zandi will lead the discussion and introduce core definitions (hedonic/eudaimonic; PERMA). He will talk about why well-being matters for learning and teaching, and about an ecological lens that links individual experience with institutional and societal contexts. We will also look at studies showing that well-being supports learning and professional growth. Participants will share their ideas, and together we will brainstorm novel research topics related to well-being in language education in the context of Iran. This session should be of particular interest to students who are searching for novel research ideas.
Mercer, S., & Murillo-Miranda, C. (2025). Research agenda on well-being and language education. Language Teaching, 1-19.
