⭕️ The difference between "Pharmacy vs. Drugstore"
👈معادل داروخانه در انگلیسی هم "pharmacy" است و هم "drugstore" .ولی این دو با هم تا حدی فرق دارند.
‼️کلمه‌ی" pharmacy" به داروخانه ای گفته می‌شود که تقریباً فقط داروهای نسخه‌ای (prescription drugs) عرضه می‌کند. با این تعریف، می‌توان گفت داروخانه‌های نسبتاً کوچکی که در بیمارستان‌ها و مراکز درمانی می‌بینید عمدتاً "pharmacy" هستند.
👈در مقابل،" drugstore" که در انگلیسیِ آمریکایی کاربرد دارد داروخانه‌ای است که معمولاً بزرگ‌تر از "pharmacy" است و علاوه بر اینکه خدمات "pharmacy" را ارائه می‌کند کلی چیزهای دیگر هم می‌فروشد، از قبیل لوازم آرایشی و بهداشتی، اقلام کمک‌های اولیه، نوشیدنی‌های گازدار، نوشیدنی‌های الکلی و از این دست.
‼️ بنابراین، می‌توان گفت "pharmacy" به‌نوعی زیرمجموعه‌ی "drugstore "است، هر چند ممکن است همیشه و لزوماً این‌گونه نباشد.
👈در انگلیسیِ بریتانیایی کلمه‌ی" drugstore" تقریباً کاربردی ندارد. به‌جای آن می‌گویند "chemist" یا "chemist's".

👈تو فارسی وقتی حوصله ی تعریف کردن قضیه یا اتفاقی که افتاده رو نداشته باشیم میگیم: “بیخیال، قضیه اش مفصله”
زیاد گفته شده که چنین مواقعی در انگلیسی از عبارت it’s a long story استفاده کنید، اما اگه در فیلم ها دقت کرده باشید این عبارت خیلی کم شنیده میشه و به جاش عبارت it’s complicated رو زیاد بکار میبرن. از نظر لغوی یعنی قضیه اش/داستانش پیچیده اس اما درواقع با همون عبارت فارسی “قضیه اش مفصله” مترادفه. از عبارت it’s complicated وقتی استفاده میشه که کسی درباره ی جریانی سوالی می پرسه و شما حوصله ی توضیح دادنش رو ندارین یا خیلی مفصله و حوصله بره.

✴️Woodcutter
Once upon a time a very strong woodcutter went to a timber merchent and asked for a job , and he got it. His salary was really good and so were the working conditions. For that reason, the woodcutter was determined to do his best. His boss gave him an Axe and showed him the area where he was supposed to cut the trees.
The first day, the woodcutter brought fifteen (15) trees. “Congratulations,” the boss said, “Go on with your work! ”Highly motivated by the words of his boss, the woodcutter tried harder the next day, but he could only bring ten (10) trees. The third day he tried even harder, but he was only able to bring seven (7) trees. Day after day he was bringing less and less trees.
“I must be losing my strength.” The woodcutter thought. He went to the boss and apologized, saying that he could not understand what was going on
“When was the last time you sharpened your axe?” The boss asked
“Sharpen? I had no time to sharpen my axe. I have been very busy trying to cut trees
👉 Moral :Most of us never update our skills. We think that whatever we have learned is very much enough. But good is not good when better is expected. Sharpening our skills from time to time is the key to success.

روز اول ، چوب بر پانزده درخت آورد . ارباب گفت : ”تبریک میگویم،به کارت ادامه بده“
چوب بر که از حرف اربابش حسابی تشویق شده بود ، روز بعد تلاش بیشتری کرد ، اما توانست فقط ده درخت بیاورد . روز سوم ، او بیشتر تلاش کرد اما توانست فقط هفت درخت بیاورد. روز به روز ، او کمتر و کمتر درخت می آورد .
چوب بر فکر کرد : ”من حتما قدرتم را از دست داده ام”. او نزد ریسش( اربابش) رفت و گفت" نمی فهمه چه اتفاقی داره می افته و عذر خواهی کرد . ارباب پرسید : ”آخرین باری که تبرت را تیز کردی، کی بود؟ ”
"تیز!" ” من وقتی برای تیز کردن تبرم نداشتم . من سخت مشغول قطع کردن درختان بوده ام .
👈 نکته اخلاقی : بیشتر ما توانایی مان را به روز نمی کنیم . فکر می کنیم آنچه یاد گرفته ایم کاملا کافی است . اما خوب خوب نیست ، وقتی انتظار بهتر را داریم .بروز کردن گهگاه مهارتهایمان ، کلید موفقیت ماست .
