It has also been established that Alphonso Davies is the subject of interest from Los Blancos and club CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen was asked if that matter was mentioned at all in the meeting. He affirmed that it was not brought up (kicker’s Georg Holzner as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia).Die Rekordmeister have not given up on Davies just yet as they continue to negotiate a contract extension, which Christoph Freund confirmed: “Of course we’re still talking to him because he’s our player. Let’s see what happens in the next few weeks. There’s no tendency yet.”The Bavarians are already looking at possible replacements because Davies and his agent are not budging on their stance (of Davies leaving).

Bayern Munich still do not have a Thomas Tuchel replacement lined up for after this season and the candidate’s list is getting smaller and smaller as the season dwindles down to an end. All signs were pointing towards Bayern agreeing an exit fee with the OFB to break Ralf Rangnick from his contract as Austrian national team manager, but after intensive discussions with the governing board for the national team, the former Bundesliga and Manchester United interim manager has decided to stay at the helm for Austria for the time being. This comes as yet another blow for Bayern in their search for a new manager after Julian Nagelsmann was the favorite for board member for sport Max Eberl and sporting director Christoph Freund. They both very much liked the idea of the former Bayern, RB Leipzig and Hoffenheim manager making a return to the Rekordmeister, but he has signed an extension with the DFB that will see him remain German national team manager through World Cup 2026. Other names have been mentioned in the conversation with Bayern to replace Tuchel, but nothing has gotten more advanced than it had for either Nagelsmann or Rangnick. Unai Emery, Zinedine Zidane, Antonio Conte, Jose Mourinho, and Arne Slot had all been linked with Bayern at one point or another, but all of said links were just rumors and nothing more than that.The club has already ruled out the possibility of Tuchel staying on beyond this season and the manager himself is being considered by Manchester United to replace Erik Ten Hag. FC Bayern München v Arsenal FC: Quarter-final Second Leg - UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Either way this will be a big call. Better get it right. Leroy Sané has had an interesting career at Bayern Munich thus far.He started somewhat well following his blockbuster €49 million move from Manchester City in the summer of 2020, but it soon became apparent that he wasn’t worth the wages the club was paying him.Sané seemed to have an aversion to defending (an area of his game where he has since worked hard to improve), and his patchy form didn’t warrant superstar status. Because of this, other players such as Serge Gnabry felt they were worth more than what they were being paid. The quality gap simply didn’t match the wage gap between the players.Four years on, and the club has come to the point where they either need to extend Sané’s contract or risk losing him for a reduced fee, or possibly even for free. Yes, the player has been in inconsistent form for the entirety of his time at the club, but his Hinrunde performances could’ve had fans believing he’s the best player in the world. His displays in the latter half of the season haven’t quite been the same, but he was of crucial importance against Arsenal in the Champions League, making a brilliant run and winning the Bavarians a penalty in the first leg.But is extending the right move when selling could bring a host of benefits?Moving a top earner who is disrupting the wage structure at the club elsewhere could help the team from a financial standpoint. In addition to this, the future fee received would likely allow Bayern to splash the cash on a big-name replacement to join the ranks of Kingsley Coman, Serge Gnabry, Mathys Tel, Jamal Musiala, and Bryan Zaragoza as Bayern’s options on the wing. Additionally, Sané is also a bit of a hot head, frequently picking up unnecessary cautions and having a history of reported attitude issues. It seems, however, that despite any negatives surrounding the player, Bayern has already made up its mind when it comes to Sané’s future at the club. According to Sky Sports reporter Kerry Hau, club executive Max Eberl has had positive talks with the player regarding the possibility of extending his contract. Bayern Munich will not be hit hard for losing the Bundesliga for the first time in the last 12 seasons, thanks to a timely update of the format that will keep the Bavarians in Pot 1, owing to its recent success in the competition.As explained by a Sky Sport from mid-April, captured via @iMiaSanMia: Bayern will still be in Pot 1 of next season’s Champions League draw despite not winning the league title. With the new format starting next season, league winners no longer get automatic spots in Pot 1. It is one of the most meme-able things on social media right now. Harry Kane moved from Tottenham Hotspur to Bayern Munich during last summer’s transfer window and could, yet again, go another season without a trophy. Going to the Rekordmeister from the North London outfit, on the outset, would have greatly increased his chances at collecting some winner’s medals, but his move to Bayern has coincided with one of the most remarkable Bayer Leverkusen sides we have ever seen under Xabi Alonso. Kane is hardly the problem, either. He has already set a bevy of Bundesliga scoring records and has tallied 43 goals across all competitions thus far as many matches and 35 have come in the league. He has also tallied 11 assists across all competitions, the most of which setup teammate Leroy Sané in the beginning stages of the season. Bayern were perhaps a bit unlucky not to come away with a win at home against Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals, but with a 2-2 draw in the books, they are still very well in the running to reach the final at Wembley. Kane’s penalty conversion from leg 1 aided in the effort and he probably should have had an assist with the number of times he setup his teammates, particularly in the first half of proceedings. Either way, there is still one last chance for Kane and Bayern to win a trophy this season: the biggest one in Europe at that.Even if there’s no silverware or winner’s medal this season, Kane is committed to his future being at Bayern. His contract currently runs through June 2027 and he recently revealed that he assuredly would like to fulfill it, regardless of whether or not Bayern wins anything or not. “I’m here for many years, it’s not just a one-off year I’ve come for, but of course the expectation at the start of the year was to win trophies. It hasn’t gone our way in the Bundesliga and cup but the Champions League is the biggest one of them all. This is exactly why I came, I want to play in these big games, these big moments and there’s no bigger than next week away from home,” he explained to TNT Sports (via @iMiaSanMia).
