This is a big one and most of the planet denies it. Walking is critical. Being able to walk is vital to all systems and organs and emotional aspects of life. Being able to walk has you feeling a level of freedom that doesn’t match other kinds always talked about and never delivered. Independent locomotion around your house and life is critical. Exploration. Creativity. Self confidence. Accountability. Responsibility. Strength to take on other areas of life where change has been feared. When you loss this ability even if only for a few months you realize how critical it actually is to the entirety of your life.

There’s a reason we took the first 12-18 months of our lives to have every waking moment be focused around teaching ourselves how to walk. Self taught. No coaches. It must be vital. Must be that important to build upon. And expand outward into a skip or jog or sprint. Walking. Need to be prepared to do this skill. Just doing the skill isn’t enough. Not at all. Need to exceed any performing skill with preparation.

20-30 miles while only breathing through my nose. 2 times my bodyweight of force every step for 2200 strides per mile. Must be strong to endure that force. Being able to manage our bodies in an upright position for hours on end without fatigue is critical. Supporting our entire bodyweight only on the soles of our feet is critical. Having the energy and rituals and routines in line to understand how vital it is to breathe through a clear uncongested airway. To breathe through the nose during hours of micro panics and micro threats shows strength and control of body.

Don’t take walking for granted. It’s a massive clue to how other areas of life are going and a massive dose of medicine to maintain and build upon until your last chosen breath.

The world’s standards of ability, wisdom and function is decreasing at an alarming rate. And everyone seems okay with it because it gives them things to blame and rally behind to complain more. Every time the world lowers her standards of human function, I raise mine. Something to think about.

Walking isn’t training but it is a critical skill set to maintain and prepare for and craft. Essential to humans!
