Minor updates have been made to the Game Mechanics Litepaper since our Staking announcement yesterday.

Specifically, we added a section on Staking and edited the Steps to Energy conversion graphic to add additional clarity. The step and energy conversion rates & reference values remain the same.

GENE Staking is happening NOW!

The basic rules of the Genopet’s staking program are as follows:

Every staking deposit must be locked for a period of time.
➡️ The staker can select the lock period.
➡️ The longer the lock period, the more bonus rewards can be earned.
➡️ GENE rewards are locked for one year by default.
➡️ GENE rewards can be withdrawn unlocked as sGENE, which can be used in-game.

When governance voting is enabled, the voting weight is determined by the amount of lock period left in the staking deposit.

There's a drought in the Genoverse 🥵 Water Crystals are in high demand with Genesis Habitat Minting ongoing, but why is the water floor so high?

We don't know either, but we want YOU to help us do something about it! 💪

We're partnering with Strata on a drop to sell 100 Water Crystals at a price you'll decide 🌊 💦 💧

What does that mean? Great question.

Strata launches are based on dynamic pricing, similar to a dutch auction. The price of Water Crystals will start at 50 SOL (approximate current floor) and will gradually drop over 12 hours. As more Genovians buy, the higher the price will rise until it levels off. If the price is ever deemed "too high" it will fall as a result of no one buying.

There's a limited supply, so you can buy when you feel the price is right, but don't wait too long or they'll all be gone. 💀

We're experimenting with this type of launch to allow Genovians to work together to decide the price as a community. That means it's set by YOU. It's a drop that puts the decision in hands of the community. 🤝

1. SFTs are live with Magic Eden—a safe and secure place to trade all those Crystals you'll be refining.

2. The Habitat Management Contract has been deployed to Mainnet (https://solscan.io/account/HAbiTatJVqoCJd9asyr6RxMEdwtfrQugwp7VAFyKWb1g) and final testing is complete for Habitats. In fact, the first regular habitat was terraformed by our team while testing burning real KI, GENE, Crystals & a Seed. 3. The last hurdle to releasing Habitat Management is confirming the accuracy of the step tracking for Android users.

4. We are preparing to launch without Google Fit. If you are having step counting issues on Android please say so in Private Beta and report your device, Android version, and version of the app you are using.

5. We are working on Google Fit integration which could help with accurate step counting and also allow Android users to use wearable devices, but we have not been approved yet. Initially we expected this to take days, but it seems the verification could take weeks.
