ዛሬ የኢትዮ ጠቢብ ሆስፒታል የልብ ህክምና ማዕከል ትላልቅ እና በርካታ የህክምና ፕሮሲጀሮችን መፈፀም በማስመልከት የምስጋና መርሃ ግብር አዘጋጅተን ነበር።

በኢትዮጲያ  የልብ ህክምና ታሪክ ልዩ የሆኑ በግል ሆስፒታሎች ደግሞ የመጀመሪያ የሆኑ የልብ ኘሮሲጀሮችን  ሆስፒታላችን በሚገኘው ዘመናዊ ካት ላብ(CATH LAB) ዉስጥ በተሳካ ዉጤት   ማካሄዳችንን በተመለከተ የ ልብ ህክምና ማእከል ቡድኑ እንዲሁም የሆስፒታሉ ባልደረቦች  በተገኙበት አስደሳች የአድናቆት ስነ ስርዓት ፕሮግራም አሳልፈናል።

Removal of challenging deeply retained Metalic foreign body with use of intraoperative C-arm Flouroscope.

As pit an effort to improve the Neurosurgical care in ayder Hospital, removal of Intracranial Metalic foreign bodies complicated with abscess and/or having poorly controlled Seizure are some of the common procedures we do in our Hospital.

This is ZH, a 31 years old young man who sustained blast injury and has been living with this deeply retained Paraventricualr Metalic foreign body for nearly 2+ years.
He has been suffering from poorly controlled Seizure and recurrent brain abscess for which he has been operated three times for the Brain abscess. He continued to develop recurrent infection ending in brain abscess. We operated him in ayder Hospital, removed the remaining abscess pockets and the Metalic foreign body under C-arm flouroscopy Guidance. The use of C-arm has some inconvinience in introducing the operating microscope.
He has no post operative deficit, has excellent course and is on antiepileptic medication.

We are following him clinically and with serial CT scan. We did CT scan at 2 and 6 months 👇after surgery and he has no sign of infection.

A surgical team led by Tazma’s Heart Team at Kalkaal Hospital in Mogadishu, Somalia, successfully removed a bullet lodged near the IVC/RA junction in a 25 year old soldier.

The patient, who sustained a flank injury two months prior resulting in paraplegia and sensory loss from a lumbar fracture and spinal injury, had undergone previous surgeries to address his spine and explore his abdomen. However, the bullet was not removed and it was visible at the mid-abdomen at the renal level on postoperative imaging.

Following imaging 24 days prior that precisely revealed the bullet's location, he was referred to Kalkaal Hospital for bullet removal surgery. This delicate operation was skillfully led by the renowned Cardiothoracic surgeon, Dr. Sisay Bekele and it was successfully completed.

We are pleased to report that the patient has recovered well and is discharged.
