Last week, our surgical team successfully did near total thyroidectomy for a 55 years old woman who had goiter for 30 years.
The patient had symptoms of difficulty sleeping comfortably but had no features of hyperthyroidism.
Intraoperative meticulous dissection was done to spare recurrent laryngeal nerve and parathyroid glands. This complex procedure required meticulous collaboration between two attending surgeons and a dedicated resident.
Huge credit to our entire OR team for this outstanding outcome. we’re overjoyed the patient is recovering smoothly with no features of hoarse voice and hypocalcemia.
Moments like these remind us why we do what we do.

🩺 Forensic Medicine: The Medical Detective Bridging Every Specialty! 🔍⚖️
Think forensic medicine is just about crime scenes and autopsies? Think again! 🚨 It’s the ultimate cross-specialty collaborator, working hand-in-hand with almost every branch of medicine to solve mysteries, save lives, and push medical boundaries. Here’s how:
1️⃣ Internal Medicine & Diagnostics 🏥
Missed diagnoses? Forensic pathologists often uncover hidden diseases (like rare cancers or infections) during autopsies, helping internists refine diagnostic criteria.
Drug toxicity cases improve how we monitor prescription interactions and overdose treatments.
2️⃣ Surgery & Trauma 🚑
Studying fatal injuries helps surgeons understand survivability—leading to better trauma protocols.
Forensic reconstructions of stab wounds, gunshots, and accidents influence emergency surgical techniques and even car safety designs!
3️⃣ OB-GYN & Pediatrics 👶
Investigating maternal deaths helps improve prenatal and postpartum care.
Shaken baby syndrome cases educate pediatricians on early signs of abuse, leading to faster interventions.
4️⃣ Psychiatry 🧠
Psychological autopsies decode suicide trends, shaping better mental health policies.
Forensic psychiatrists help unravel criminal behavior patterns, aiding in both treatment and legal justice.
5️⃣ Emergency Medicine ⏳
Forensic toxicology identifies deadly substances faster, helping ER docs administer life-saving antidotes.
Analyzing real-life trauma cases refines triage protocols for mass casualties.
6️⃣ Public Health 🌍
Outbreak tracing starts with forensic pathology, remember COVID’s early autopsy findings?
Workplace deaths? Forensic experts help shape occupational safety laws.
🔬 The Bigger Picture: Why This Matters
Forensic medicine isn’t just about solving crimes, it’s about preventing future ones (medical errors, unsafe drugs, undiagnosed conditions). By working across specialties, it turns tragedy into medical progress.

🚨 Unethical & Dangerous Accusations on TikTok 🚨
A TikToker recently posted a video in which he personally accused doctors of causing a man's bilateral lower limb weakness without any evidence or medical backing.
📢 This is not just reckless, it’s deeply unethical, misleading, and potentially unlawful.
👨⚕️ Doctors dedicate their lives to healing. To publicly blame them without proof is not “speaking out”, it’s defamation. This kind of content spreads fear, damages professional reputations, and erodes public trust in healthcare.
⚖️ He must be held accountable. Content creators cannot be allowed to exploit serious medical conditions for views while spreading false and harmful narratives.
🚫 This is a call for platforms and viewers alike: Don’t let misinformation slide. Demand truth. Demand responsibility.
