18 June 1815: At the Battle of Waterloo, the French army under the command of Napoleon was defeated by two of the armies of the Seventh Coalition, one Anglo-allied army led by the Duke of Wellington, and a Prussian army led by Field Marshal von Blücher. The battle was Napoleon's last, ending his rule as Emperor of the French and marked the end of his Hundred Days return from exile.
