Now Available: A Free ICAC Recorder Addressing the Global Jassid Problem
The ICAC has released the newest edition of the ICAC Recorder, a quarterly publication focused on cotton cultivation and research. And the newest issue couldn't come at a better time!
The Indian cotton jassid, Amrasca biguttula, has been a plague on the global cotton industry multiple times in recent years — Iraq (2017), West Africa (2021-22), Puerto Rico (2023) — and is now a serious concern for the United States and multiple other cotton-producing nations.
In this 45-page issue, ICAC Chief Scientist, Dr Keshav Kranthi, highlights the history of a pest he calls "an unfortunate global citizen" due to its ability to spread from region to region.
The article presents an extensive synthesis of knowledge on the cotton jassid.

“Biochar”, “Bokashi” va “Jivamrit” — Jizzaxda yangi avlod dehqonchilik usullari tatbiq etilmoqda
Bugun amaliy tashrif bilan Jizzax viloyatiga bordim. Tashrif davomida Paxtakor tumanidagi “Jamshid Xurshid” fermer xo‘jaligi dalasida bo‘lib, ekologik toza o‘g‘itlash texnologiyalariga bag‘ishlangan “Biochar”, “Bokashi” va “Jivamrit” mavzusidagi nazariy va amaliy seminarda ishtirok etdim.
Seminarda viloyatdagi ilg‘or fermer xo‘jaliklari rahbarlari, klasterlar vakillari, agronomlar, olimlar hamda soha mutasaddilari qatnashdilar.
Seminarning nazariy qismida Xalqaro paxta bo‘yicha maslahat qo‘mitasi (ICAC) texnik direktori, doktor Keshav Kranti “Biochar”, “Bokashi” va “Jivamrit” texnologiyalarining ilmiy asoslari hamda agroekotizim barqarorligidagi o‘rni haqida ma’ruza qildi.
Ushbu texnologiyalar tuproqdagi biologik hayotni tiklash, suv resurslaridan oqilona foydalanish, hosildorlikni oshirish va barqaror dehqonchilikni shakllantirish imkonini berishini ta’kidladi.
Amaliy qismda esa mutaxassislar “Biochar”, “Bokashi” va “Jivamrit” texnologiyalarini tayyorlash, kompostlash va dalada qo‘llash jarayonlarini bosqichma-bosqich namoyish etdilar.
Mutaxassislarning fikricha, ushbu texnologiyalarni birgalikda qo‘llash natijasida tuproq unumdorligini 2–3 barobarga oshirish, mineral o‘g‘itlarga bo‘lgan ehtiyojni kamaytirish va ekologik toza hosil yetishtirish mumkin.
Men o‘z navbatimda, ekologik texnologiyalarni keng joriy etish zarurligini, bu esa iqtisodiy samaradorlik, tuproq salomatligi va ekologik muvozanatni saqlash uchun muhim ekanini ta’kidlab o‘tdim. Shuningdek, zamonaviy agrotexnologiyalarni joriy etish orqali O‘zbekiston qishloq xo‘jaligini ekologik barqaror rivojlantirish dolzarb masala ekanini qayd etdim.
Zero, bugungi kunda tuproq unumdorligini asrab, hosildorlikni oshirish — barqaror dehqonchilikning eng muhim tamoyillaridan biridir.

— Jivamrit — sigir go‘ngi, siydigi, guruch uni, shakarqamish sharbati va tuproq bakteriyalaridan tayyorlanadigan biologik o‘g‘it, u mikroflorani faollashtiradi va o‘simlik o‘sishini rag‘batlantiradi.
