Here is the 2021 Q1 and Q2 total GC approval stats based on USCIS published data(I don’t have permission here to share the official USCIS urls)

Q1 total 110934

Family 62632. (56.45%)
Employment 27485 (24.77%)
Humanitarian 14092 (12.7%)
Others 6725 (6.06%)


Q2 total 103221

Family 66147. (64.08%)
Employment 17896. (17.33%)

So now based on this we could assume what ever stats that greencardly app or other apps showing for Q3 approvals employment category numbers might be anywhere from 20-25% not more than that and that number might increase 5-10% more in Q4…

Resources to approve the cases is fixed and they can’t fully concentrate in any one category on any quarter

- *"Very large" wastage expected for EB* numbers, mainly due to covid related processing limitations (usual processing is 140K, this time 262K, so its highly impractical)
- No retrogression of Filing dates and Final action dates in foreseable future in EB (probably until mid next year)
- Cannot predict / estimate future movement now
- Suggested to submit all documentation promptly well before the Final action date becomes current.
- India EB would possibly move in October 2021 and then slowdown or retrogress next year.
- Retrogression usually happens in Aug /Sept each fiscal year
- Large number of EB3 applications received last fall (october/Nov) so likely slow movement going forward
- after downgrade is approved you are counted against EB3
- Medicals are usually requested very close to final approval
