Here is a work I wrote in honor of Osathor in the old málaháttr ('speechform') verseform.
“The heavens were howling
with heavy thunder
as Old Osathor came
with eyes like fire.
The Herder of Heavensfire
His hammer did grasp.
The ‘Ol Karl did brim
with booming Osmight.
Etins were made ill
as great Okuthor came.
Lightning crossed the sky,
Thor scoured the land.
Shivering and shaking
the Etins ran shrieking.
Then bellowed the great Bull
of the strong Battlegods.
The Rainbringer rode,
rams hooves were pounding.
The sons of the Gods
were gracious to Him,
Vingnir’s valiant son
Mankind’s own victor,
e’er bringing the rain,
e’er bearing men joy."

It's finally complete! My first collab piece with Ianthine Art featuring her original individual rune designs. Check out her channel for more of her lovely work.
I inverted her original Othala design to better work with stenciling. I added a gilded Yggdrasil symbol to the center and surrounded it all with ash tree branches.
This piece will be available with my autumn collection drop this weekend!
Materials- black walnut, acrylics, foil, polymer, and resin.

NEW EPISODE — Radio North Sea International — Celtic vs. Germanic Paganism
https://www.hearthfireradio.com/watch?v=LXVZhUmD
People often ask whether they should practice Celtic or Germanic paganism. Sometimes they think their “mixed” heritage is an obstacle separating them from the clearly defined separate pagan religions of ancient “Celts” and “Germanics” but they are wrong. In this episode I will show how history, archaeology, linguistics and genetics all make it clear this was not an issue for our ancestors and that the entire Celtic vs Germanic framing is wrong. Celts and Germans have been inextricably intertwined since the end of the Nordic Bronze Age.

This is what subversion looks like — the hollowing out of something that once had substance, until it is totally lacking in all the positive qualities that gave it value. Fantasy is one of the last strongholds where the mythological and historical can mingle together in an imaginative and creative way. It can possess the light of the heroic, the primordial, and the poetic — keeping these things alive in a world that wants to do away with them forever. Those who aren’t satisfied with the mundane world of bureaucracy, supermarkets, and sports-ball remember a time when the world was alive with legends and magic. Those people feel the importance of keeping that flame burning in their hearts and minds.
This new “illustration” is soft, lame, and coloured like the cotton candy of a toddler. It hasn’t been created by the mind of someone who has a deeper vision of life. There is no attempt to evoke something more serious, ancient, or dramatic. It is a childish hallucination of the mentally ill, projecting their twisted and infantilised vision of the world. The image drips with the ideological refuse of terminal liberalism and only wears the skin suit of fantasy. Even the demon has become a soft and cuddly creature, which is a very telling detail indeed.
Clear them out! Make fantasy great again!
