The African Union (AU) is the primary pan-African organisation that seeks to promote African unity, economic and social development and regional integration. Established in 2002, the AU is a successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU) that was formed in 1963. The AU’s mission is to bring the continent’s 54 states closer together and foster solidarity among them in the face of global challenges and opportunities.
The AU’s objectives are outlined in the Constitutive Act, which was adopted in 2000. The organisation is committed to promoting peace, security and stability, human rights, the rule of law, democracy, good governance and economic development and cooperation. To achieve these goals, the AU has adopted a number of initiatives, including the African Peer Review Mechanism, the African Union Peace and Security Council, the African Court of Justice and Human and Peoples’ Rights and the African Human Rights Charter.
The AU is also actively pursuing the African Agenda 2063, a strategic framework with the long-term goal of transforming the continent into a prosperous and integrated Africa. The Agenda focuses on seven key priorities, including fostering peace, security and stability; promoting the foundations of sustainable growth and development; deepening the African Union’s integration agenda; and promoting good governance, democracy and human rights.
The AU is also committed to fostering a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation in Africa, as well as promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment. The organisation is also undertaking initiatives to improve access to quality healthcare and education, as well as promoting cross-cultural understanding, social justice and economic empowerment.
The African Union is an important organisation in the continent, and its initiatives have the potential to bring about transformational change in Africa. Through its ambitious goals and strategic initiatives, the AU is working to ensure a more prosperous and equitable future for all Africans.

Ephesians 1:17-23 (The Jay Version)
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto Jay the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of Jay’s understanding being enlightened; that Jay may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to Jay who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fullness of him that fills all in all.
