The UPSC Law Optional syllabus and exam pattern is the Blueprint for the UPSC Civil Services Examination and the first step toward becoming familiar with the exam.

Law Optional Paper conducted by the UPSC consists of two Papers:
1) Paper-I consisting of Constitutional & Administrative Law and International Law
2) Paper-II including Law of Crimes, Law of Torts, Contract & Mercantile Law and Contemporary Legal Developments.

The second method to be acquainted with the exam pattern is to skim through the Previous Year’s Questions Papers (PYQs). By going through the PYQs, you can analyze the topics that are asked repeatedly and considered more relevant for the upcoming exam.

BE N BY IAS is elated to announce the latest 2023 edition of the USPC LAW Optional PYQs Book providing Subject and Topic wise segregation of the Previous Years Papers from 1970 to 2023.

Additionally, the weightage of the particular question has been provided along with the question making it easier for the aspirant to understand the importance of every topic.

Citation : 2023 LiveLaw (SC) 958

👉 In a significant judgment, the Supreme Court held that a clause in an arbitration agreement which is not in consonance with the Constitution cannot be enforced.

👉The Court further held that it can examine if the arbitration clauses are manifestly arbitrary and violative of Article 14 of the Constitution while considering an application for appointment of arbitrator.
