✅در زبان لاتین قاعده ای وجود دارد که دانستن آن برای کسانی که انگلیسی مطالعه می کنند خیلی مفید است.
در زبان لاتین هرگاه دو حرف دندانی در کنار هم قرار بگیرند هر دو جمعا به s تبدیل می شوند . یعنی :
📕d + d = s
d + t = s
t + t = s
t + d = s

حالا متوجه می شویم که چرا فعل comprehend آخرش d دارد ولی اسم آن s دارد. زیرا :
comprehend + tion = comprehendtion⏩ comprehension

✅نکته دیگر این که sion اگر بعد از حرف صدادار بیاید s صدای /ژ/ می دهد ولی بعد از حروف بی صدا ( بغیر از r) حرف s صدای /ش/می دهد.
ریشه vid در لاتین به معنی دیدن است که
کلمه video با آن ساخته می شود.
وقتی به این ریشه پسوند اسم ساز tion اضافه کنیم خواهیم داشت :

vid + tion= vidtion⏩ vision بینایی

✅حرف s در کلمه comprehension صدای /ش/ می دهد چون sion بعد از حرف بی صدای n آمده ولی در کلمه vision حرف s صدای /ژ/ می دهد چون sion بعد از حرف صدادار i آمده است.
نکته دیگر: کلمه different آخرش t دارد
ولی difference حرف t ندارد.
باز علتش به زبان لاتین بر می گردد. در لاتین tia پسوند اسم ساز است:

different + tia = differenttia ⏩ differensia ⏩ difference

به مثال های دیگر توجه کنید:
concident مطمئن

confidence اطمینان

silent ساکت

silence سکوت

✅علاوه بر این وفتی که بخواهیم از فعل defend اسم بسازیم در لاتین پسوند tum- به آن اضافه می کنیم:

defend + tum = defendtum ⏩ defensum ⏩ defense ⏩ defence دفاع
