Describe a time when you receive congratulations from others
You should say:
-  what the situation was
-  who congratulated you
-  why you were congratulated
-  and explain how you felt.

Ok, well I think a good time to talk about would be the day when I got the results of my university entrance exam, which was about three years ago.
I remember feeling super nervous that day. If I got the grades I needed, I would be able to go to the university of my choice, whereas if I did badly, then not only would I not get into a prestigious university, I also wouldn't even be able to study the major I wanted. So when the letter with the results came through the post, my hands shook so much I could barely open it. And when I did finally get it open, I had to ask my dad to read it for me.
When I saw my dad’s reaction, I knew I must have done quite well, because his eyes really lit up when he looked at the letter, and he had a huge, great big smile on his face, which stretched, literally, from ear to ear. And after my parents both congratulated me, they made me call up all my relatives and tell them the good news.
And finally, regarding how I felt that day, well, it was actually a huge relief more than anything. You know, my parents had been so supportive to me throughout my studies, so I really didn't want to let them down. My parent rarely complimented on most achievements I made, but that time they told me how proud they were, which made me feel over the moon and more determined to do well at my university, as I saw how much it meant to them.

Crystal: Hey, George, actually it's funny that you mentioned relationshipscause I'm actually having a problem with Joe.

George: Is that the guy with the curly hair?

Crystal: Yeah, that guy. He's really nice and everything, but like I really don't think it's working out.

George: Why what's wrong?

Crystal: Well, he's really narrow-minded and I'm really different. We just ... he's nice and everything. He's kind and sweet, and it's just not for me, like we're totally different people.

George: I see. So what are you going to do?

Crystal: I think I have to rip the band-aid and I think I'm just gonna send him an e-mail or something.

George: E-mail! But you've been dating for awhile now and you like him right?

Crystal: Yeah, we're like so sweet together, but it's just ... I don't see a future.

George: But isn't an e-mail just a little too cold and he might tell other people about it, and rumors spreading and what not.

Crystal: OK, then, what do you think I should do? How should I do it?

George: You should probably just meet him face-to-face?

Crystal: Ugh! Face-to-face. OK. Where should I meet him? Like do you think I should just invite him over to my place?

George: You should probably do it in public, where, you know...

Crystal: Ooh, good, good, good, good. That's better.

George: Maybe that cafe.

Crystal: Ah, that cafe. Yeah.

George: While I'm having my date, you can be breaking up with your boyfriend. It'll be great!

Crystal: You're so mean.

George: I'm sorry. That was uncalled for.

Crystal: I don't know what to say. What do you think would hurt him less?

George: I gotta say honesty would be the best policy.

Crystal: Honesty. OK, so this is what I'm going to say. Joe, you're great, but we're not meant to be. How's that?

George: Yeah, it's great. It's great.

Crystal: OK, so, OK, OK, I'm done. I think I'll meet him at the cafe, and OK, things will work from then. I'll improvise.

👨🏻‍🦰Todd: Abidemi, what did you do for summer break?

👩🏻‍🦰Abidemi: For summer break, I went to visit some countries in Asia.

👨🏻‍🦰Todd: Oh, what countries?

👩🏻‍🦰Abidemi: I visited Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and Myanmar.

👨🏻‍🦰Todd: Oh, great. What did you do in each country?

👩🏻‍🦰Abidemi: In Thailand, I was there for about a week. I ate a lot of delicious food and I met a lot of many nice people. I loved Thailand, so I hope to return again.

👨🏻‍🦰Todd: What foods did you eat?

👩🏻‍🦰Abidemi: I don’t remember the names but I just remembered that they were all good. (Laughter)

👨🏻‍🦰Todd: Thai food is so good.

👩🏻‍🦰Abidemi: Yes.

👨🏻‍🦰Todd: Did you go anymore in Thailand like the beach or the forest?

👩🏻‍🦰Abidemi: I was more interested in nature, so I traveled from Bangkok to Chiang Mai and Chang Rai, and I went trekking and rode elephants. So that was one of the highlights of my trip.

👨🏻‍🦰Todd: Oh nice. How long was the trek?

👩🏻‍🦰Abidemi: The trek was about a day. It was a trek for 2, 3 hours but then we also stayed overnight in a community in the hills. And then the next day, we trekked for a little bit to come back to the city.

👨🏻‍🦰Todd: Nice. So was Thailand the first stop?

👩🏻‍🦰Abidemi: Yes. It was my first stop. It was supposed to be the shortest stop but I loved it so much that I spent more time there.

👨🏻‍🦰Todd: After Thailand, where did you go?

👩🏻‍🦰Abidemi: From Thailand, I moved on by land to Laos.

👨🏻‍🦰Todd: And what did you do in Laos?

👩🏻‍🦰Abidemi: In Laos, I mainly was in the northern part of the country, and I went zip-lining.

👨🏻‍🦰Todd: Oh fun!

👩🏻‍🦰Abidemi: It was fun. So—

👨🏻‍🦰Todd: So zip-lining is going flying from tree to tree?

👩🏻‍🦰Abidemi: That’s correct. So that was about two days’ worth of zip-lining, and we stayed overnight in a big tree house.

👨🏻‍🦰Todd: Oh, how fun.

👩🏻‍🦰Abidemi: It was quite an experience.

👨🏻‍🦰Todd: Nice.

👩🏻‍🦰Abidemi: I really enjoyed it.
Women’s Rights حقوق المرأه
For years and years, women had been fighting for many rights. Women were not treated equally to men. Laws were in place that did not allow women to vote.
After years of work, things were slowly changing. More and more women were finishing high school and going to college. By 1900, laws were being passed that allowed women to own property.
There were still needed changes. For example, jobs were divided into women’s work and men’s work. Women weren’t allowed to have certain jobs, and they were still denied the right to vote.
Many women leaders worked to bring this right to all women. These women held marches demanding the right to vote. They wrote letters and made speeches to the nation’s leaders.
Finally, in 1920, all adult women were given the right to vote. This was the 19th Amendment to the constitution.
