بكل بساطة تستخدم can للتعبير عن استطاعتك او قدرتك على فعل شيء ما ..
Ex:
- I can play piano
انا استطيع العزف على البيانو
- Sarah can speak Italian, but she can't speak Spanish.
سارة تستطيع تحدث الايطالية، لكنها لاتستطيع تحدث الأسبانية.
#عند_السؤال نضع can في بداية الجمله :
- Can you swim? هل تستطيع السباحة
- Can you change twenty pounds?
هل تستطيع صرف ( فك ) عشرين باوند؟

بالنسبة لـ could نستخدمها في الماضي لنعبر عن استطاعتنا عمل شيء ما..
( انا كنت استطيع / انا استطعت)
Ex:
- When I was young, I could run very fast.
عندما كنت شاباً كنت استطيع الجري سريعاً.
- I was tired last night, but I couldn't sleep.
انا كنت متعب الليلة الماضية،لكني لم استطيع النوم
( انا كنت استطيع / انا استطعت)
Ex:
- When I was young, I could run very fast.
عندما كنت شاباً كنت استطيع الجري سريعاً.

نستخدم can / could لنطلب من الآخرين فعل شيء ما :
Ex:
- Can you open the door, please?
هل بامكانك ان تفتح الباب لو سمحت؟
- Could you open the door please?
هل بامكانك فتح الباب لو سمحت؟
#السؤال ب could يعتبر اكثر تأدباً
Ex:
- Can you open the door, please?
هل بامكانك ان تفتح الباب لو سمحت؟

يأتي الفعل دائما بعد can / could في المصدر ( بدون اي اضافات)..
#تذكر_ جيدا :
- I can't انا لا استطيع
- I couldn't انا لم استطع
- I can't sleep in the morning.
انا لا استطيع النوم في الصباح.
- I couldn't sleep last night.
انا لم استطع النوم الليلة الماضية
يأتي الفعل دائما بعد can / could في المصدر ( بدون اي اضافات)..
