As part of ongoing efforts to hold those accountable responsible for the prisonโs notorious abuses, he has been placed in judicial custody.

Syriaโs central bank governor, Abdulqader Hosariah, said that lifting US sanctions would restore direct access to the SWIFT system and enable talks with foreign banks over frozen funds.
