The Danish Refugee Council, in cooperation with the Busra al-Sham local council, Daraa Governorate, southern Syria, is restoring 103 homes for displaced families returning to the city. Phase one completed 50 homes; phase two begins next week on 53 more. DRC provides shelter and infrastructure support to refugees and internally displaced persons.

For the second time in recent days, Israeli forces detained several individuals, including a child, during a dawn raid on the village of Suwaysah in Quneitra. The Israeli army claimed to have captured an Iranian Quds Force cell. However, the previous detention has ended in release, and local activists maintain that the detainees were not affiliated with Iranian groups.
Deir Ezzor’s Internal Security Forces arrested 120 suspects in Abu Kamal in a sweeping crackdown on organized crime and regime remnants. Col. Shamlan said the operation targeted arms, drugs smugglers and militias tied to the 47th Regiment and vowed no tolerance for armed groups.
The Syrian Ministries of Interior (MOI) and Defense (MOD) are actively supporting Latakia’s wildfire response. MOI sent reinforcements, while MOD helicopters joined firefighting ops. Both ministries are working with emergency teams to protect residents and contain the fires.
US Special Envoy for Syria Tom Barrack mentioned the dialogue between Syria and Israel has begun—not based on old agreements, but driven by the need for a new understanding beyond the past.
Since June 30, wildfires have raged in Syria’s Latakia and Tartous governorates. One major fire has been burning for five days. More than 10,000 hectares have burned, accounting for over 3% of Syria’s forests.

Around 1,120 people have been displaced. Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon, and the Syrian ministries of defense and the interior are assisting with containment efforts, but heat, wind, drought, and war remnants are making it difficult.
