🇪🇺🔝 EU hits Russian crypto and gas: The European Union approved the 19th package of sanctions against Russia.

1. Ban on Russian LNG. The EU is introducing a complete ban on the import of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russia - in two stages. Short contracts expire in 6 months, long ones - from January 1, 2027.

2. A blow to crypto. The EU bans all transactions with Russian crypto platforms and services that help circumvent sanctions through cryptocurrency.

3. Intermediary banks under sanctions. The restrictions affected banks in Kazakhstan and Belarus that carried out crypto operations for the Russian Federation.

4. Chinese companies under the gun. The sanctions affected 4 Chinese companies that helped Moscow circumvent financial restrictions.

5. Minus one more way to circumvent. Now the EU is blocking Moscow not only oil and gas, but also shadow cryptocurrencies.

It is crucial that the European Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States act in sync to ramp up pressure on Russia and bring the peace we all need closer.
