In the dua' Al-Istikhāra is a rebuke of the false beliefs of those who believe that the Prophet (ﷺ) knows the unseen, for if (ﷺ) knew it,why would he ask Allaah if the affair was good for him then decree it for him?

Also in the dua' Al-Istikhāra is a rebuke of those who seek aid & refuge in the Prophet (ﷺ). For he (ﷺ) clearly states in the dua': "Since You are able while I am NOT." So why would the Muslim seek help with the one who is NOT able over the one Who is able?!

And the Prophet (ﷺ) would teach the dua' Al-Istikhāra just as he would teach a Soorah from the Qur'ān. As this dua' instructs us to rely upon Allaah alone and to attach our hearts with Creator not the creation.
