BE Collective has successfully completed the design for the heritage preservation and additions to Africa Hall in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia. The landmark building #Africa Hall, now the headquarters of the UN Economic Commission for Africa, is famous for hosting the adoption of the Organization of African Unity (#OAU) Charter. BE Collective, supported by Conrad Gargett as principal consultant, identified structural issues and proposed solutions that respect the building's heritage while meeting modern standards. This project follows their work on the Australian Embassy in Addis Abeba.

Today, an important building that has served as the headquarters for the Organisation of African Unity since 1963, promoting #panafricanism and fostering common interests and growth across Africa, has been renovated and inaugurated. The building's design was completed by the Italian architect Arturo Mezzedimi in 1959, and its construction was finished in 1961. The first conference of African ministers was held in the building in 1963, and building renovation work started in 2017.
