Detail views of the amazing #reliefworks of the historic #monument at the Ethio-Cuba Friendship memorial park located along the famous urban #landmark #ChurchillAvenue in Addis Abeba.

The #park was inaugurated on 12 September 1984, houses different relief works casted by the North Korea's #Mansudae #ArtStudio in collaboration with artist/sculptor Tadesse Mamecha.

The monument, well-known by name #Tiglachin, is a memorial to Ethiopian and Cuban soldiers involved in the Ogaden War in the 1970s.

Monday, March 10, we gathered to inaugurate the ET-302 Memorial Monument & Park, coinciding with the sixth anniversary of the tragic crash. Families of the victims, high-ranking government officials, representatives from Ethiopian Airlines, various stakeholders, and members of the local community came together to honor the 157 lives lost.

Creating the ET-302 Memorial was a journey filled with deep thought, collaboration, and sensitivity. What was once a site of profound tragedy has now become a place of remembrance and resilience. The design merges art and architecture, creating a space that not only honors the past but also serves as a path toward healing. Through thoughtful form and materiality, it stands as a testament to the strength of those who carry forward the memories of their loved ones...continues here.
