The Sutton Hoo lyre is a Anglo-Saxon instrument that was discovered during the excavation of a ship burial site at Sutton Hoo in Suffolk, England in 1939.
Many Scandinavian folk-songs have throu ancient times been written about Spring, and this one in particular, is about the month of May. The Scandinavian people have learned to adapt and live in harmony in all our four seasons of the year due to ancient -and current traditions like rituals, blót, celebrations and music.

↟ Happy Constitution Day, Denmark! 🇩🇰 Since the 5th of June 1849, Denmark became a constitutional monarchy and received its first democratic constitution. Today, Danes celebrate constitutional celebrations in Denmark and raise the Dannebrog.
Dannebrog is the name of the Danish flag, and the legend says that it fell from the sky to Valdemar Sejr's troops during the battle of Lindanäs in Estonia year 1219, 15th of June. It is the oldest national flag in the world, still in use today. Dannebrogen means "Danish clothes" or "well processed fabric." The cross design was first used on the Danish flag, which was then also taken over by the other Nordic countries.

👑 Idag den 6 juni är det Sveriges nationaldag. För 502 år sedan den 6 juni 1523 valdes Gustav Vasa till kung i Sverige, vilket senare kom att lägga grunden för Sveriges självständighet. Vi tog oss då ur Kalmarunionen som primärt styrdes från Köpenhamn.
👑 Den svenska monarkin grundar sig på traditioner som sträcker sig mer än tusen år tillbaka i tiden. Antalet kungar har under denna långa tid uppgått till fler än 70 män, som alla kan anges vid namn. Sveriges nationaldag är svenska flaggans dag, helgdag samt även officiell salutdag. Enligt gammal tradition sköt Örlogsfartyg tidigare salut som en hedersbetygelse till nationen.

I gamla bondesamhället var Sommarsolståndet/Midsommar en viktig brytpunkt: tiden innan Midsommar präglades av ett givande till jorden, medans tiden efter var till för att skörda det jorden gav tillbaka.
☀️ Midsommar symboliserar fruktsamhet, lyckosamhet och framförallt årets ljusaste dag: Sommarsolståndet som infaller imorgon – den längsta och ljusaste dagen på året. Delsbostämman is an annual outdoor fiddlers’ gathering that takes place today in the village of Delsbo in Hälsingland, Sweden. It is one of Sweden's oldest fiddler meetings, starting in 1952. It is held every year on the first Sunday of July according to an old tradition that goes far back in time.
Hundreds of 'spelmän' (fiddlers), both men and women, from across the country gather dressed in their traditional folk costumes to play traditional music. The recordings cover a broad range of Swedish regional fiddling styles of music, including folk, polkas, waltzes, and brudmarsches (bridal marches).
Delsbostämman is one of Sweden's oldest fiddler meetings, and the music features accordions, flute, violins, and the famous Swedish instrument, the Nyckelharpa, which dates back to the Middle Ages.
