Music: Heilung - Alfadhirhaiti. Heilung is a Nordic folk music projekt that is mainly based on texts and runic inscriptions from our Germanic forefathers from the Iron Age and the Viking Age. Heilung therefore often use the Old Norse language in their songs, and the word 'Heilung' is a German noun meaning 'healing' in English.

Heilung will do several shows here in Scandinavia during March this year, and later on also in Europe.

↟ The Heritage of our Ancestors ↟

This magnificent rune stone named Hovgårdsstenen (The Håkon stone) with signum U 11, is placed by the ancient harbor bay, below the ruins of Hovgården on Adelsö here in Sweden. It is located so that incoming boats and ships could clearly see the rune stone, and on the other side of the water is Birka, one of our oldest Swedish communities. The rune stone can be dated back to the time before 1080.

Rune stones and ancient sites are protected by law here in Scandinavia. Rune stones was often carved in memorial of a dead or fallen family member, and many stones are also erected and carved in memory of a road, a bridge building or after seafaring Vikings.

↟ Solarcross – The Sun is Rising ↟

This is a weather phenomenon so called 'Halo', that appeared in Vemdalen, Sweden in 2017 the 27th of December. When ice crystals in the atmosphere interact with sunlight in a certain way this incredible phenomenon can appear in the sky, like a sign from above. This particular Halo is very rare as it is surrounded by a 22-degree circle with two bi-suns + an upper tangent arc. Ice crystals in the form of long prisms also give rise to the vertical and horizontal rays that seem to emanate from the sun. You can also see the more unusual 46-degree circle furthest away.

This weather phenomenon can be the foundation of the solarcross symbol, and it's very likely that our Germanic and European ancestors have seen the very same phenomenon, embraced it into their culture and thus passed it on to the next generations 🜨

↟ Vingsted Iron Age is an open-air museum located in Velje, Denmark 🇩🇰

Older cultural monuments on this area from the Iron Age (500 BC - 1050 AD) have been preserved and utilized – a reconstructed Iron Age environment with houses, estates, fields, smithy, sacrificial area and living cattle.

During the Iron Age the farms were built surrounded by a fence with several houses next to a larger residential building. These houses were used for various purposes such as a smithy or a loom. There was also often an excavated well in close to the larger residential building on the farm.

↟ Mother of Pearls – Polar Stratospheric Clouds ↟

This phenomenon is something very rare occurring here in the Northern realms. The phenomenon is called 'Mother of Pearls', and can only form in winter under very specific conditions in the polar stratosphere at very high altitudes (up to 15 - 25 kilometers). They occur at extremely low temperatures, around -70°C to -90°C, which only happens a few times a year in the stratosphere over the Artic polar region.

Scientists claims that these are the highest, coldest and rarest clouds on Earth. They are most visible close to sunrise or sunset (civil twiligh) when the sun is between 1 and 6 degrees below the horizon. The sunbeams' are making a prims effect through the ice crystals in the clouds, casting beautiful glowing pastel colors all over the sky.
