One of our nanny goats had twins the other day. mom got lethargic and we didnt' know why. We called our local mobile vet clinic and they gave us the run around saying they could be out friday. My wife spent the day on the phone getting run around... even told to call the NC school of vets (we in SC!!!). So one of the neighbors came over... she thinks the goat was bloated, i'm not sure she wasn't going septic as to me he breath felt hot when I hand fed her.
Never the less, she didn't make it and we found two kids snuggled up to dead mom this morning. We have two other nannies but their milk hasn't dropped yet and they won't let those kids anywhere near them. So we are bottle feeding two kids in the house.

Baby goat update. Had a hell of a time getting them nursing. Ended up using a drench gun and they were eager eaters. Once we established that we figured out that we needed to cut larger than expected slots in the nipples on bottles. We are off to the races.
One of our other nanny goats had a litter of three around 7pm. She was enjoying showing them off to us. She was crying but we realized it wasn’t a bad cry it was “come look”.
New record for my solar production today. 157.04 kWh. And my panels are optimized for winter sun angle.
Just overheard my wife on the phone with a veterinarian. She said "please come out.... we've got 5 kids and my husband is out of work. Yeah, he just putters around the house all day".
