A beautiful thing that happened with my piano students this week is they got to be a part of the song and find the rhythm and harmonies with other musicians. Just like when we speak we don’t have to read from a page, music is no different.
From the time we are born we are surrounded by expert speakers. It’s how we learn. Music is no different.
I didn’t get to do much one on one with people but this ended up being way better. Tempo bear, Jorge mesa, Jon driver are all top tier professional musicians who could go with and support someone exploring music. Banjo Bear and Breakwater Bear and a bunch of other people hanging were also awesome and it turned out to be such a special experience not just for the kids but for me. Seeing how far they’ve come in such a relatively short amount of time was inspiring.
